Military Veteran Telehealth Appointments

Telehealth visit through a secure site to allow a Veteran to ask questions and discuss medical concerns about injuries sustained while serving on active duty that may be service-connected (get a monthly monetary stipend). This can include any injury sustained from areas such as:

Compensation and Pension Examinations

After you file a disability benefits claim, the Veterans Administration may ask you to have a claim exam (also known as a compensation and pension, or C&P, exam).
- Get answers to commonly asked questions about the VA claim exam through a Telehealth visit with PAIN-C (see appointments above).
PAIN-C has qualified personnel to perform any C &P exam needed. Dr. Skillern is a decorated combat Veteran who served in Iraq. Dr Skillern also supervised the Memphis VA orthopedic clinic for nine years where he received specific training to perform the C&P examinations at a level needed to afford a veteran the highest possibility of obtaining service connection.

Why might I need a VA claim exam?
This C & P exam will help the Veterans Administration (VA) determine if you have a service-connected disability. It also helps the VA rate your disability if you have one.
The Veterans Administration bases your rating on how severe your disability is—and your rating will affect how much monthly disability compensation you’ll receive. Compensation may include things like monthly payments and enrollment in the VA health care program.

NEXUS Letter

A “nexus” is a link or connection between two or more things.
For a veteran to qualify for disability benefits, he/she must be able to prove that their medical conditions are the result of their military service (i.e. “service-connected“). Thus, the purpose of a Nexus Letter is to “clearly” connect a veteran’s current medical condition either to another service-connected condition or to circumstances directly related to military service.
Nexus Letters are written by a licensed medical provider(s) after reviewing a veteran’s military medical records and it states their medical opinion regarding the service-connection of a veteran’s medical condition(s).
Nexus Letters are essential for any condition on a VA Disability Claim that is not automatically considered service-connected. Conditions are automatically considered service-connected if 1.) there is ample evidence that it occurred during the veteran’s service or 2.) it is on the VA Presumptive List and the veteran meets the qualifications for the list

- It plays a vital role in brain function and the production of DNA and red blood cells.

- Brain function
- Low levels of vitamin B12 have been linked to a decline in brain function.
- Depression
- It’s been suggested that there may be a link between low vitamin B12 levels and depression.
- Osteoporosis
- Osteoporosis is a disease in which the loss of bone mass results in weaker bones and an increased risk of bone fractures.
- Age-related macular degeneration
- In people aged 50 and over, adequate B12 is thought to be important for maintaining good vision and protecting against macular degeneration.
- Boost Energy level, weight loss
- Advocates of this approach claim that regular injections can boost energy levels and help with weight loss and mood.

1. We have available the COVID-19 rapid antigen test. This test will take 15-20 minutes to deliver results.
2. We can also perform a COVID-19 PCR test. This test delivers results in 2 to 4 days.
3. We supply work/school excuse documentation pending testing results.
